To those who went from the 4 to 4S on AT&T, compare the download speeds. Are you seeing any better download speeds with the new HSPA+ 14.4??

Just did a speedtest a couple minutes ago. iPhone 4

Wow, I have AT&T and I have NEVER seen higher than 2.4Mps.

Impressive number which is still lower than the 7.2 max the iphone 4 theoretically supports

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

I am getting great numbers on my iP4 with IOS5 already.

71ms/DL10.62/UL1.44

Of course, I'm Still waiting on UPS for my 4S to arrive.

Are you sure that's correct? iPhone 4 maxes out at a theoretical 7.2Mbps. 10.62Mbps download is impossible.

When you make a reply, you can click "manage attachments" to upload a pic. This button is below the reply box.

Regardless, it's an error because the iphone 4 isn't capable of anything over 7.2Mbps. It's not uncommon for speedtests to be incorrect under certain conditions.

You positive you weren't connected to WIFI by chance?

Not sure how to post a pic, but would be glad to do so, if someone can tell me how.

hit the home button and sleep button on your iphone then go to camera roll and email yourself the photo and upload it here

Yeah, definitely still good numbers. I get about 6.15Mbps down on my iPhone 4 in Toronto, so I'm hoping for an improvement on that.

Here is my speed test in Dallas TX for the 4S

I like the speed increase considering I was only getting around 1.5 - 2MB a sec on the iPhone 4. Not only that but youtube and other apps that lagged out run really smooth now. Cosmetically there isn't a difference in the phonse but power and speed wise makes the iPhone 4S a great pickup for me (plus needing the extra space very badly)

I did a very informal side by side with my girlfriends iP4 early this evening.

iP4S Speedtest was ~5 down and 1 up
iP4 Speedtest was ~4.5 down and 1 up (I don't remember the exact numbers)

Even though the downlink speeds were similar, full size webpages loaded quite a bit faster (5-10 seconds faster) on the 4S.

How do you know your on hspa+ vs regular 3G because my understanding was AT&T never completed the rollout.

I guess you really don't know but if you speed is higher or you check there coverage map. That is probably why att wants the 4g icon or at least the H+.

So far it's the same. I could often get 5Mbps down on my 4, though. I'll be curious if I can get faster when I'm downtown.
