I understand how to configure it. My question is how to confirm a call is being handled by it.

HD Voice is VoLTE. HD Voice is just AT&T's marketing term for VoLTE.

VoLTE has pretty much rendered my phone useless for making calls in my apartment. My LTE signal here isn't good, so calls are almost impossible to make. If I disable VoLTE, forcing the signal to drop to 4G during phone calls, it's fine. Hopefully WiFi calling is coming soon.

Not exactly. VoLTE is needed for HD Voice, but you can be using VoLTE and not be utilizing HD Voice (that currently has carrier and device-specific restrictions right now).

It's not a matter of wanting to disable HD voice. It's just that it doesn't work between different carriers and not all phones support it.

That will go away in time, but these are early days.

No, but your call still will be routed on LTE, so you'll get faster downloads if you have something downloading in the background.

I work off my cell phone for my job. There are just certain people that I just don't like to speak on the phone with. Now I have to hear them in HD? First world problems
