I wish Apple designed Uverse interface

We've had Uverse since March. My wife doesn't like it as well as DirecTV because of some glitches we've had with the DVR box. Of course, she didn't like the DirecTV proprietary DVR as much as she liked our original DirecTivo DVR ... But nothing was as bad for us as the brief period when we tried Dish Network.

I'm fine with Uverse. I like the VOD options that we didn't have with DirecTV. Overall, I think it's a better value.

We have occasionally hiccups - pauses, pixelation, etc., that we didn't have with DirecTV, but we can at least watch TV during a thunderstorm now.

The VOIP service seems to leave a little to be desired. There's a bit of lag in it.

I'd be much happier if Apple could just weasel its way in to replace the Windows-based OS on the set-top boxes, overhaul the interface, etc.

No way this will work as they describe it to. It's AT&T!

Like winterspan said some posts back, I also have fiber-to-the-node but was under the impression it was fiber-to-the-home. AT&T screwed that issue hard and I'll have a hard time ever trusting them with anything but phone service again. I also was promised a speed increase by Summer '08 when I had my F2TN set up but haven't heard anything since October '07. U-verse works for people who want everything streamlined and all bundled together. I'm not like that. If my internet goes out, I want to at least have TV. If you have everything on one connection and it fails, you are SOL.

And I definitely can't see me changing from DirecTV just for use on the iPhone.
