My God, I'm playing Pong on my iPhone....

It's sort of like owning an XBox 360 and using it to play Joust...

;)

Distributed by - Taito makes the game and releases the originals now (for the consoles/handhelds)

That would be Namco...

I'm going buy this - we need to make it clear that we WANT this sort of thing...

The only thing is that Midway is in "limbo" last I heard so all their games, Joust, Robotron, etc., are nowhere AFA new releases...

The Midway Games retro packs for older systems are starting to become collector's items - especially the GameCube version since you can play it on a Wii...

Joust is one of my favorite games... nothing like flying around bonking other jousters on the head and trying to snag up the eggs! Good times.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but "Gautlent" would be freaking awesome on the iPad with bluetooth support up to four players. Oh yeah that would be freaking killer. Not to mention Tecmo Bowl!!!

That's probably on Atari's list - Internet Multiplayer on iPad/Touch/iPhone... ;)

In for Asteroids, Battlezone, Missile Command, and Tempest. :D

Wish they would release the original Star Raiders though (the one from the Atari 400/800 computers), which was arguably the first "system seller" game for a computer. The 2600 version is lame. :(

Is there a Bluetooth joystick available? I mean using the HDMI tv out kit plus a joystick would be awesome

I paid the $14.99 and while the games do bring back memories, controlling them really kind of sucks. Using the iPad's touch pad for control is less than impressive. I used to be a big fan of Missile Command but this app's version of the game doesn't do it in landscape mode. Plus the control layout is backwards, the buttons should be on the left with the trackball on the right.

Missile Command was good for 10 minutes. As said above, controlling on the iPad sucks. I doubt I'll be buying the others I used to love.

Some of the games controllers on the iPad are tough, but others are not so bad. I never liked missile command but I'm liking what the collection has to offer

I didn't get Missile Command after all (since I remembered that I still have the old version of the iPhone app that includes the arcade original and works well in 2x mode). But I played Asteroids and Tempest quite a bit and their controls work pretty good on the iPad. Battlezone is a bit more difficult, but the arcade version was never easy to control either.
