well, i'm going to upgrade the 9600 pro on my rev. A dual 2.0 G5. i don't do games or motion, but still want to get the most out of tiger's core image, so i thought 128 mb of VRAM would be better than my present 64. can't justify the x800 or the 6800... should i go for the 9800 pro or the special edition? i've seen the comparisons on barefeats.com and they don't seem to differ in performance significantly...still, i like getting the best that i can afford, which saves on upgrading later on. any thoughts?

Well, why don't you wait until you get your hands on Tiger and see if core image is up to your standards running on your 9600... I'm sure it will be, but since I can't honestly say I've seen it done on anything but a G5 at macworld, I don't know for sure.
