ATI HD 2600XT - comparable to nVidia 8600GTS - not bad!

I definitely plan to get the 8800GT, but I really don't want to wait 3-5 weeks (and with my history with apple, I'm assuming it'd be closer to 5 weeks or longer).
Especially when the Apple Store and bringing home a new Mac Pro is a 15 min train ride away
How much do you think the 880GT will be separately?
With the 3-5 week delay, do you guys believe the standalone will take even longer to appear?
And last, are the cards easy to swap?
