To go back on topic, my 3870X2 is arriving tomorrow (today if a miracle happens), so I will be able to tell you guys how it performs (Barefeats already mentioned in another thread that it works fine).

I will post a separate thread, with unboxing photos, photos in the Mac Pro, crysis pics, crysis videos, crysis benchmarks (in Vista x64).
(I don't have any other taxing games to test).

Also, of particular interest, I will be posting whether or not the card has the fan issue, where having the PC and Mac card in at the same time has the unused card go full blast. I am leaving in my ATI 2600, which is of course the same manufacturer, and has the same driver suite as the 3870 X2, so I am hopeful that I will be able to leave both in without any problems.

Hope this helps everyone.

(Anyone know how long a plane flight is from City of Industry CA to NYC? I have Fedex same day and I'm hoping that means that they deliver it today, not that it reaches their facility today...It shipped at 9 am)

I am curious how the HD3870x2 works out for you ... please let us know!

Btw, which exact model did you order? Which brand? I am thinking about testing a HIS card but I am confused because some pages state it has 775MHz GPU clockspeed while others show 825MHz ... well, I will check that on the manufacturer´s homepage.

Haha, I ordered HIS. The 775 Mhz clock is a known mistake, its the default 825 MHz. You can use 2 6-pin connectors with the card, but if you use 1 6-pin and 1 8-pin (you can buy a 6 to 8 adapter) you can overclock the core to 875 without much of a temperature increase.

My card is at the fedex facility in my state, should come tomorrow morning.

I read your post in the other thread - thanks for the info! Did you also try the card in games where the HD3870x2 was reported to performe weaker than the GT/GTS/GTX? E.g. Crysis? And, what about noise and fanspeed when you have the card sitting in the Mac Pro while running Mac OS with the stock card? Any issues? Thank you for any info! :)
