Anyone play Atomfall?

In a sense its what Fallout London tied to be but failed (imo). While I live in the US, and some (a lot) of the referrences were lost on me, the post apocalyptic world that the publisher built was fantastic. The RPG elements were engaging, and fun, though the ending does have its complainers.

Coming from Fallout, the mentality to loot everything bit me in the behind, there is a more rigid inventory/resource requirements, its not a bad thing, it actually enhances the game. Likewise there is no fast travel built in the game. I complained about this early on but I largely see the wisdom of that as well.

Like many other RPG games you have multiple factions and its up to you if you want to help or hurt any of them. The game has no quest markers per say. You start a quest and tells you where to go, but its really up to you to put the pieces of the puzzle together. I thought I would hate that, but overall allows you to more fully immerse yourself in the game, since you have to do more exploring and investigation.

Overall its a great game if you like games like fallout

Atomfall impresses with atmosphere and freedom. No quick moves and tokens of quests - everything has to be searched for yourself, it plunges. Resource management and the bow make every action meaningful. The ending leaves questions, but the game is worth playing.

Thanks for the review! I didn’t play Atomfall, but it sounds interesting. I like games without markers where you have to think for yourself. If the atmosphere is like that in Fallout, I want to try it. I hope the plot is also at the level.

Very much so, and if I may, its a bit more deeper and post apocolyptic then fallout london (which I realize isn't a Bethesda game but a mod). I found the plot to be great, as mentioned its up to you to uncover all of the clues of what happened and choices in how to finish the game. I do think the ending was a bit weak, I won't go into it, but that's been the biggest critisim of the game. That in no means detracts from the overall enjoyment of the game.

I'm looking to do another play through shortly.

Can you have companions or relationships?
No, in many respects its a smaller game without base building, companions. Its strictly a RPG game set in a post apocalyptic area of the UK. Its a single player game where its up to you to solve the problem at hand, and you can side with a number of people/groups to accomplish that mission.

Humph, No! I am grumpy about the game lol, I tried it on my M3 Max MacBook with Crossover, and it runs well, looks ace on the Macs screen with high graphics, but…………… it gives me terrible pop in with doors and robots rappidly flashing in and out. So I gave up and got it on my PS5. Played a fair bit, bit of an odd ball game though and hard, like the blue creatures, how do you avoid them etc? I assume it has something to do with the blue flowers but then Howe do you harvest those? Currently playing Outlaws but will go back to Atom Fall.

Shotgun. I basically one shoot them.

Brilliant, nice and simple lol. Thanks I’ll give that a go. Think I’ll have to upgrade the shotgun first though. I did get the most powerful gun in the game but as it’s a machine gun it’s good for taking down the robots but not the blue creatures.

Doing another play through AtomFall and its been an enjoyable time. Taking it much slower then my initial play through. Reading more, talking to people more. I've also decided to side with a different faction then previously
