I bought the browser yesterday on a whim after reading it had real tabs and I've been mostly impressed. However I think there is room to improve:
- the bottom bar takes way too much space. I think you could probably implement all those functions on the top bar as a button that opens up (Like the way you get to the settings right now) or simply as separate buttons, taking some space away from the URL bar which is actually way too long as it is.
- the browser freezes up on some websites. I have been able to constantly reproduce it on the SA forums (forums.somethingawful.com) by opening up a thread on a new tab or as a background tab. If you could fix that I would use the browser full-time.
- The icons are ugly. Take a look at how safari's icons blend with the background. Make them less vibrant or simply a dark overlay over whatever theme you are using. I'm talking about the bookmarks, close tab and fullscreen mode icons. The ones on the bottom look more or less how they should. The more consistency the better. I see you already know about the app icon itself so nothing to add there
- I wish you could implement a quick "open common bookmarks" function. This is something that exists on desktop safari. You basically group several bookmarks in a folder and when middle clicking on it all of the bookmarks open up in different tabs. Maybe get it as a tap and hold gesture over a bookmark folder?
- I agree about the forward and back gestures. A smaller trigger length or maybe just being able to adjust it would be nice. How about a three finger swipe left and right to avoid triggering the pinch zoom when moving from one tab to another? That should work I think.
As a whole, this browser shows lots of promise and it's the first third party browser app i have even considered using. Please keep up the good work on it
