What do u guys think? Now that they've got wifi calling with their network too, seems like they'll be considered better than Verizon. Also att not throttling unlimited users anymore helps. Thoughts?

No they're still no match for Verizon's level of overall native coverage and LTE data speeds. If I'm going to pay for a high priced phone bill then I'll at least be paying for the #1 coverage in the US.

Verizon is considered number 2 in the carrier race. Also, Verizon maybe fast, but they have 30% less coverage than ATT. I prefer to have a web page load a little slower if that means I'll have more signal...I switched from Verizon to ATT for that reason

Seems like you might have those things reversed.

I know Verizon density needs some work. Lte means nothing if ur speeds are slow...

I wouldn't consider them the best, not that I have been on ATT for a year, I find that I do miss VZW's network and coverage. ATT's coverage map stated they cover the white mountains region of New Hampshire but my latest trip up proved otherwise. I barely got edge, where as VZW, I easily got LTE.

If VZW offered to pay for my ETF, I'd switch

Yeah you have that reversed. Verizon has long been the top carrier in U.S. Coverage. Check out RootMetrics, Sensorly, or basically any other place that compares the carriers and Verizon is number one in overall coverage.

Not to say that there aren't some isolated cases where AT&T or one of the other carriers have better coverage, but in general Verizon is on top. Heck, you can even just look at their own coverage maps and see the difference.

AT&T or for that matter T-Mobile or Sprint's WiFi calling is great as long as you have a Verizon hotspot with you.

If AT&T had t-mobile pricing then yes I would say they would be the best. But I agree with most of the others here, Verizon is still the best. I'm on Verizon and hoping they implement wifi calling soon.

The only carrier that offers great coverage up in rural NH and ME is USCC. The LTE you were on is actually all native USCC coverage that VZW is roaming on

AT&T is notoriously poor in those parts of the state because they have no low band spectrum. USCC owns the rest that VZW doesn't.

Once AT&T and Verizon finally launch wifi calling, there is basically no reason to jump on Sprint or TMobile. And no, I don't consider saving pennies for worse coverage worth it b

No, I disagree. I had VZW and it worked great in North Conway and other towns in the vicinity, I was not on roaming and it was LTE. With ATT, I was lucky to get edge.

I just came back from Verizon to AT&T. Here in NYC, AT&T rocks. I was getting 2g (1X) in movie theaters, my apartment, coffee shops, elevators, etc. with Verizon. Meanwhile, my wife was on AT&T LTE the whole the time. I was shocked! After all, Verizon rules the land, right?

Something else i noticed is how long it takes for the phone to switch from 3g to LTE. I am talking 3 minutes or so. I don't know why. The only thing i can think of is that 3G on Verizon is CDMA and LTE is GSM. It's like asking the phone to switch from English into Spanish? With AT&T, i don't experience this issue. Why does this matter? Because 3G on Verizon is painfully slow, 0.7mbps slow. 3G on AT&T (4G as AT&T calls it) pulls ~10mbps. So even if i don't get LTE with AT&T, i still get speedy data from them.

If you are outside, VZ will be the better carrier. That said, I believe AT&T is the better experience.

1. vowifi still down for me 2. Att not the best with their expensive international roaming. I don't mind they charge me and give the same t-mo gives me outside US.

I haven't been able to activate it yet either.

No worries though. It's not an official feature yet. Technically only for beta users. Not the general public

I don't enjoy being on Verizon. They charge us way too much and we get only fair coverage. Lack of Wi-Fi calling or anything is terrible because I get about -120 to -110 DBM in my house and I can't just turn on airplane mode and then turn on wifi to save tons of battery and still get calls and texts. Quite irritating. I have no hope for Verizon bringing this feature in because they said their customers don't need it. Thanks for making the decision for me, Verizon. Screw you.

Verizon is still planning to launch it sometime this year: http://www.fiercewireless.com/story...-wi-fi-calling-verizon-remains-mia/2015-08-07

Sorry - with the MILLIONS of customers each carrier has, there is not an easily BETTER carrier. It depends on where YOU live and work.

As to the WIFI thing.. maybe if you need and/or make use of it.

ATT does throttle.
