ATT Mobile Insurance Now With Declining Deductibles

Have you guys seen this yet? Apparently ATT's mobile insurance plan for $7 a month now has a declining deductible, so if you don't make a claim within 6 months, the deductible drops to $149, and then to $99 after a year.

I think I'm going to go with this plan over AppleCare+. I like the coverage for the phone being lost or stolen, because those are situations where you can't get an OOW exchange from Apple.

Squaretrade doesn't cover a phone being lost or stolen. I have never lost an iPhone, but if I'm going to pay for insurance, I want to cover all potential scenarios.

I've had it for 21 mo's on all our iPhones without a claim. I wonder if It is retro or only starting from the effective date?

Yeah its been like for a while now. I always laugh when people have apple care but then lose their phone and are **** out of luck.

You can probably check it out on phoneclaim.com. Just click ATT on the home page, then click the link under "What's My Deductible?". If it's retroactive, it should give you a lower deductible.

I just want to add that one advantage to SquareTrade and AppleCare+ is that they are tied to the device directly. The AT&T insurance is tied to the line of service, which can get confusing if you are doing cross upgrades between lines, if you switch phones around at anytime, or if you decide to switch carriers.
