att n SSN

    hey , i tried to buy it online but i couldnt because im an international student

    if i went to the at&t store , will they still need my SSN ?

    or is it just for online

    and how can i get around this ?

    i mean it cant be just for americans :)

    You need a Ssn for any cell phone contract. No way around this.

    Madness, I was an International student in Texas, Abilene, ask your school, I was helped by my school to get a ssn.

    how can you get an ssn if you wern,t born in the us ?

    and this cant be possible ... i mean only americans can buy iphones!

    Actually, there was an international student in my class and he said that you can get SSN if you have a H2?(I don't remember the exact thing) visa. I thinks that's like the work visa.

    just ask your international student counselor and tell them you need a letter written to the SS office asking them authorize a creation of a SSN number for you to be able to rent a place / open a bank account / work on campus, etc. they should be able to write you a letter that you then give to the SS office, they will then issue you a SSN. Trust me it works.

    If I may add, since you don't have a credit history yet if above was done successfully, prepare for an extra $500 (estimate) for deposit prior to activating AT&T service. Credit check ;)
