What gives? This is with 4 bars on LTE BTW. I noticed my internet on phone past 2 weeks has been horrible. Takes 10 seconds to load IG and twitter pics/videos...

Sorry not sure what that means...being restricted?

I never got a txt or message to say so...

6 days left in billing cycle 6435 MB used...is that a lot? And if so in 6 days will my speed return to normal?

This has been going on for years and they don't always notify you.
If you're on unlimited once you pass 5gb you're throttled to slow speeds till your billing cycle renews.

There will be hell to pay if I get throttled.

I was on a 6gb plan where me and one son shared at 3ea. If either went over--+10.00. No throttle.

Went to the ATT Next and 15gb. No mention of throttling. And I rarely go over 3 myself. So they have better end of deal and better not throttle.

Where do you look in contract for throttling? Any links?

I will Google it also.

OK seems to only Unlimited--Still sucks when you are paying for unlimited. I can understand if someone goes ballistic and is using +20gb per month.

At this time, only those on AT&T's unlimited data plan get throttled. Every other data plan just get charges if they go over their allotted data amount.

I have unlimited data

So if this is the case will it go back to normal in 6 days....until then i am just stuck in slow then

Correct, your data speeds will return to normal at the start of your next billing cycle. Until then, you are stuck at your current speeds.

Thanks. Never knew about this as i never had this issue before...ever.

You're supposed to get a text message from AT&T when they start throttling you, to let you know what's going on. IF you didn't get a message, I would raise a stink about it. At the very least angle for a courtesy credit or something.

Yes call. I went over my limit but was getting conflicting messages. They eliminated the over charge as a courtesy.

The unlimited data plan tos isn't available to me anymore since I'm no longer on it, but I don't recall there being any stipulation requiring ATT to notify the user before daid throttling occurred.

They do text you or notify you at your myAt&t account. I managed to pull this info from their website years back.

Att will start changing the throttling policy to make it a little bit fairer. So instead of throttling u for rest of the month. They will throttle u on congested cell towers during peak times but when off peak u will be at full speeds.

The old throttle policy is ridiculous. Pointless to throttle someone at 2am during off peak time.

I STILL don't get why people don't know this.

If you have an older grandfathered unlimited plan, YOU WILL be throttled. 5gb mark for LTE plans. 3gb mark for HSPA plans. Simple as that. No reason to complain. It's been like this for years now.

Most do not know as most who have the unlimited plan do not go over 5GB. Is it STILL the better plan for me as I average around 4Gb a month. I have gone over 6 Gb a few times and ATT didi not throttle me.

be thankful, i'm on the 20GB plan, and my speeds are always this bad (if not worse) when on LTE. At least you get to return to normal.

I have received the text when I was unlimited, so I sm very well aware that they do send texts (to be clear my argument never was that they don't send them). I am merely saying that there is nothing in your contract, that I am aware of, that states that they have required themselves to text you each and every time.

A courtesy text is not the same as a contractual obligation.

Where do you live? That's certainly not typical. I would contact ATT about it if you are truly seeing worse speeds than what the OP has posted. You absolutely shouldnt be.
