I'll be online tonight at midnight. Let's keep each other updated on our progress.

Awesome. I'm in the Bay Area so I'll be up!

Rest assure even if they ask for account number, paskey and number to port, not a thing will happen. I did this 4 times lol.

I'll be placing my order tonight as well, cheers.

Thanks for your feedback and information. I'm glad I made this thread. Looks like we'll all be up tonight!

I decided to call T Mobile and the foreign based CSR told me something different than this thread has been saying.

He said I have to wait till my contract is up to pre order and that if I did it tonight I would be hit with the ETF from ATT.

I'm so confused now..

What???

That's why I'm just going to sign up as a "new" customer. And switch my number over after the 12th.

I am not paying no ETF.

Will porting your old number be a big deal? Any additional costs/lines/etc?

Apparently not. You just go in and they will port your old AT&T number to the new phone. Since our contract will be expired, essentially there is nothing AT&T can do as far as ETF's.

This is all assumption from what I heard.

Hello,
Here's my dilemma.

I currently am on a 2 year contract with AT&T.

Start date: 9/12/2014
End date: 9/12/2016

I plan on switching to T Mobile.

IF I pre order tonight on T Mobiles website 9/9/2016, will it trigger the ETF and start the whole transition process with T mobile? Or will all that occur when I get the phone on 9/16/16, which by then my AT&T contract would have ended.

Thanks for any help!
I am in the exact situation. You will not trigger any ETF. Your phone won't even be activated until 9/16. My T-Mobile SIM card just arrived today. They gave me a different phone number. All I have to do is port my old number over when my contract ends next week Monday and my iPhone 6 is unlocked. Bye bye AT&T.

I am doing the iPhone 7 upgrade deal that T-Mobile is offering. I will trade in my iPhone 6plus 128gb for the 7plus 128gb. From what I was told I would pay $220 plus taxes spread out over 24 months.

I'm getting the standard 32gb 7 for free. How much do I have to put up for the pre-order? It should be nothing right?
If its "free"?

Ray thanks for sharing your story.

So from a logistical standpoint, you're saying tonight at 12:01am I should purchase a new Tmobile phone/plan with a new phone number? Basically don't tell them I'm coming from ATT? Then NEXT week when the phone comes walk into T mobile and tell them I want to port over?

You can tell them you're switching from AT&T doesn't make a difference. You decide when you officially port your number over. They really don't care when you do it.

So what happened?

Did you preorder your phone?

How much did they charge upfront in total?
