Attachment Problem need help!

Hi,

I have been getting an attachment from a friend each month that always opened when double clicked opened in MS word. ( have Office installed on macbook) Now since I upgraded to SL these attachments show up as VLC with DAT on the VLC icon. Double click and goes to VLC playlist but nothing happens.

I know these are documents and not videos, etc. Tried to google a solution but can't figure out what's happening and what I need to do to open these monthly docs.

Advice, solutions, please.
MacBook (black) SL version. (not tech. minded 🙁 )

Download the file, Get Info (Command I), Look for the "Open With" section towards the bottom, select Word from the menu, "Change All."
