... actually it's "There are too many files open currently." but MacRumors doesn't let me type a title that long.

This is the most cryptic error message I have ever seen. I encounter it when I try to add files to my iTunes library or update my iPod and only in iTunes. Closing some applications seems to help with adding files to the library but it's extremely frustrating. I have NO IDEA what's going on. There's really nothing about it on the net besides some guy on a Windows PC who ended up switching to Winamp.

Seems to have procured after updating to 10.4.10...

Any ideas? :(

I have the same frustrating problem. I've been using iTunes for years now, and I've never gotten this problem until relatively recently (last version or two of iTunes). I'd love to hear what's going on here and what to do about it.
