I have a LG 27UP850-W, that works perfectly under Monterey 12.2 (after having problems with earlier versions of MacOS). Now, is there a way I can safely update to 12.5 (or whatever is the current build late august 2022) and expect this particular external monitor to work with my M1 2020 Mac Mini? I need it to work via an USB C-cable. Please tell me it's okay to update? Thanks.

hi i have the same model, can you pass the test in this page https://www.wide-gamut.com/test with DCI-P3 color space? i don't see any difference between srgb and dci-p3. While with the monitor of my macbook pro yes.

With Safari it works while on Chrome it doesn't. Advice?
Does everything work for you?
Does HDR mode in Mac OS need to be turned on?

thanks

Hi. I might have been a bit vague in my original post. With "does your LG UP850-W monitor work under macOS 12.5", I meant: can you use the monitor with your Mac Mini via an USB-C connection without getting those pesky "no signal found-messages"? I had severe problems with earlier versions of macOS (prior to 12.2), but have been able to have the Mac Mini connected to this monitor without any loss of signal. But, I do want to update to the latest version of macOS, but of course don't want to experience the same problems I (and many others) had earlier.

And yes – I need to connect the monitor via USB-C since I have 2 PC:s simultaneously connected to the very same monitor to be able to hot switch between whatever computer I want to work on.

As in regards to your own question: yes, I see a difference in the last sRGB vs. P3-display section on that website. Running Safari. Clicking on the P3-link reveals a more saturated/vibrant image.

I'll answer myself: I accidentally performed an update to 12.5.1, and watched nervously the reboots while my Mac mini did its thing. Byt yeah, no erratic 'signal not found'-messages. All good, it seems.

Hello, I am planning to get this monitor. Can you confirm if texts have any blurriness on this monitor? This is the only reason I am making the switch.

Th term "blurriness" is all relative. If you compare the image quality to say, a Studio Display or an LG Ultrafine 5K that both can display a higher PPI than the UP850 – then yes, it's blurry. But, if you set the monitor to scale the resolution to your own taste, the image quality/blurriness is just fine. I am currently happy with the image quality given – compared to the price of the monitor.
