If you have the new MacBook Pro with 6750M, stay here. If you don't, leave.

Now, Apple's drivers are a modified version of oudated 11.1 Catalyst drivers, which seem to have been released in January.

This will provide a large (read:awesome) performance increase, especially in the area of tessellation. Highly recommended. The only downside is that your card will cease to be called the "AMD 6750M" and will be ID'd as the "AMD 6600 and 6700 Series." No bearing on performance, but the name is lost.

Install and post your impressions below!

EDIT: CREDITZ TO IMPERIALNAVY FOR THE NEW 11.8 DRIVERS - TESSELATION IN DX11 GAMES IS ONCE AGAIN DRASTICALLY IMPROVED. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. LINK

Recommended Steps to Gaming Perfection:
1) Use the downloaded package to uninstall the current display drivers and install the 11.6 drivers.
2) Download "ATI Tray Tools" and follow this guide. I use 775/975 MHz @0.955V, but keep in mind that everyone's chipset may differ slightly.
3) Follow this link to disable core parking - all cores will be equally utilized.
4) Enjoy your newfound gaming performance.

Core Parking is a Windows 7 feature that "stops" or "parks" cores of a multicore processor when they are not in use. With some games, Windows will mistakenly shut down a core or unevenly distribute load. Turning off Core Parking forces Windows to evenly use all cores in your system. Beware, if using Windows on battery power, this may have an adverse effect on battery life.

First gave me a bluescreen and after installing the backup and everything is fine i try the 2nd link and voila same **** diffrent download.... its asking for installing AMD drivers which are inexistant....

STOP PROVIDING CRAP LINKS

Where do you find the full drivers on the AMD website? I can't seem to find them.

I installed them perfectly from the second link. Are you uninstalling previous drivers or simply updating?

Has this worked for anyone, and if so, have you noticed a performance increase in games?

This provides a considerable boost in Bad Company 2, Dead Space 2, Crysis 2, and several other titles. It's around 5-10 FPS most of the time, which makes a lot of difference when you're trying to lock your FPS at the vSync 60. Try turning off Windows 7 core parking - also makes a difference of 5-10 FPS, especially in Bad Company 2. Try overclocking.

Can I just get this from ATI's website?

11.7 shows available but the driver doesn't actually update. I'm still stuck on one from 5/24/11.. or something

k 11.6 package above updated my drivers I'm pretty sure. changed it to 8.861.xx something but the date stayed the same at 5/24/11

Disabling core parking may have an adverse impact on battery life... But not drastic or massive. Besides, who uses Windows on battery?

I might have to do that on the airplane ;) Unless i can find a way to draw power from somewhere :p No, i am not flying buisness class.

I went from 55FPS to ~70FPS+ in Halo on full settings for everything, with Vsync off.

.

the link does not work for the 11.8 drivers?

and any proof of improvements in disabling the core parking?

I am asking here too : I have a question about the volt modding. Is there any other tool than ATT that can do the job ? I am asking because whenever i activate ATT, i actually get a worse performance due to some strange settings coming from it. Usually, i leave those kinds of programs deactivated. The same goes for CCC.

So is there an alternative ? Or can i somehow disable all ATT tweaks except the overclocking part ?

In ATT, make sure you turn off "OnScreen Display" under "Tools & Options", this lowers FPS.

Core Parking only helps occasionally by equilizing processing load across all cores. It can't hurt to turn it off, but it may affect battery life. If you're tech savvy and you don't run Windows often without being plugged in, then try it. If not....don't bother.

If you google "AMD 11.8 drivers" the first link gives you the correct download. It works perfectly for me.

Already disabled ;) Its the Tweaks that create the problems..thats why i would much rather just disable the whole thing except the overclocking area...

I guess there is no alternative program then?
