Actually, it still needs visibility of your features, including your eyes, but yes it does allow for more acute angles to be used to unlock the phone. This will be the default for me. For me, all this ID stuff is just there to prevent somebody from casually picking up my phone and using it. If somebody wants to do that with force and assault me in the process to force an unlock, the phone will be the least of my concerns.
