I don't like it. The game market is not a place where Apple wants to go, unless they focused exclusively on software, which would be a MAJOR policy shift at Apple. Right now, most of their profit is in hardware (not the best of ideas, but that's reality). Making video games is an all-or-bankruptcy thing: they have to sell the units at a loss, in order to keep the prices low enough to sell (one of the reasons SNES and Genesis games were so cheap as compared to GC and XB), and sell the games at enormous profits. Apple's current policy is to dang near give away the software, and sell the hardware at high prices. This does benefit the consumer, at least in the long run, and Apple is almost starting to go away from that direction with .Mac, but their main focus is still hardware.
