ATV 4 Remote Skimming

when I first purchased my ATV 4 I was able to skim or fast forward/rewind by swiping my thumb left or right on the track pad. This stopped working months ago and I can't figure out why. I just read an article online that said if I pressed menu + volume up for 2 seconds it would fix the problem. I tried this and it started working for a few minutes! However, it has stopped working again.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix?

Search through the forums, or the Apple site -- you'll find this was changed in an update. Do you have a link to the online article you're referencing? Either you misunderstood it, or they got it very wrong. Google is your friend ;-)

"Online help says to press and hold the menu button and the volume up buttons for 2 seconds" is what I read also on the internet but that did not work for you. Also read one can use the old ATV 3 remote if you have one to get things started again hopefully by using the ATV 3 remote to get into "Setting" than into the remote section and try things their. Sorry, do not have anything else. Above poster gives you absolutely nothing but tells you to there was a change but does not tell you what the change was. Not helpful at all. I did a google search (Just a little) and came up with nothing about the Track Pad. Will search more.

Can you use SIRI to Navigate ?

Now I believe you have to pause first and then the scrubbing works. I think they changed it to reduce accidental/unwanted scrubbing. I prefer this way as I used to just pick up the remote before and accidentally scrub away.

Yep, this is exactly it. And I prefer the newer method too!
