I have had my ATV 4 for about 6 months and now find the remote battery is running completely down at least once a week. Is this normal?

No. Mine lasts months on a charge. Have an Apple Store genius check it out.

Mine might last 2 months maybe 3...

my kids love games and pressing the buttons. my daughter sometimes pauses/unpauses stuff a lot or hits the triple tap to get CC on...just to hit buttons.

Battery sounds defective. With a good battery I doubt that is possible even with constant usage. Apple should warranty that for you if its 6 months old and I wouldn't wait. The ATV remote is 80 bucks so its probably worth your time to have them replace it.

I literally just remembered my ATV 4 remove uses a battery. lol

Had it over 4 months.

have you tried rebooting the aTV?

the remote normally drops it's bluetooth connection after a bit, maybe something got a little screwey and it's staying connected all the time
