ATV 4K on 1080p TV

Is there any upside for having a ATV 4K on an 1080p display when it comes to games or general performance? Thanks!
 
Well the only downside is cost. I only have 1080 bit went with it partly for speed and partly because of this TV fails the next will be 4k..
