I'm having a few issues when I put my ATV 4K to sleep. When I put it to sleep, it sometimes turns my tv back on which causes the ATV to wake up from it's sleep again. Also, I notice when I wake it up from it's sleep, it goes back to its default video settings. I had it set to 4K HDR, but it reverts back to the original settings.

I too am having issues with Sleep on my Apple TV 4K. Basically it doesn't seem to come out of sleep. (I can't see anything on my TV, and it says there is no signal.) However, if I press the remote, I see the light blink on the Apple TV, so it seems to be on.

Could this be related to 4k/HDR issues?

I have to unplug the Apple TV and plug back in, to get video back.

You are not trying to switch your TV off as well are you?
My Apple TV when put to sleep turns the TV off also. I’m just wondering if you also try to turn the TV off it could be causing the issue.

im also having this issue with my Apple TV 4. I wonder if its a bug with tvOS. its very annoying to be almost asleep and turn off your tv only to have it come back on again and wake me up. My issue is that it actually restarts my TV ( Sony XBR Android TV) so I have to wait to it to finish booting in order to turn it off again.

Yeah, it turns off my TV as well when I press sleep. But it turns back on a few seconds later. I read somewhere that it only does that when you’re in an app. So far I tried putting it to sleep on the home screen and it didn’t turn back on.
[doublepost=1506899632][/doublepost]Anyone knows how to fix my ATV going back to default video settings?

I had this issue with my Sony TV. If you have "learned" the TV remote on the ATV, try deleting the remote. That solved the issue for me (I don't really understand why, but perhaps it was trying to turn off the TV with both HDMI CEC and IR and they clashed).

I’m having this exact issue as well.

My issue is that when the Apple TV goes into sleep mode the TV turns off. How can I prevent this from happening?

Often mine won't come out of sleep. All CEC stuff is off. No light when the remote is pressed, it's like the remote has run out, but it hasn't. I have to unplug it then plug it back in again.

I have same issues also.. Picture goes to blank screen i swipe sideways and then back to restore channel or press guide and channel to restore picture.. My ATV has not been sleeping the last coupe of days.. Apple had me reset it..

Did the reset help? What kind of TV is yours?

I have done multiple resets on my ATV 4K, even replaced it and still won’t sleep. After several hours of trying to isolate the problem, it turns out that my ATV 4K will sleep only if my Sony XBR65X900E TV is on. HDMI CEC is turned off on all devices.

Have you restarted your androidTV in the Sony?
That thing requires restart once in a while too.
Especialli CEC control is something that gets messed up often and the appleTV 4K is a troubled citizen in this CEC-network.
