So, I see that the film Fright Night has appeared as a film suggestion in the horror film section on my ATV app.

When I select it, it wants me to pay for the film even though it’s already in my collection.

I’m used to Apple getting this sort of thing sorted and working properly before release.
Presumably they will sort it in the end?

It feels a bit disjointed at the moment even though it has the potential to be completely fab.

My worry is, if I select it, will they charge me?

I I’ve got similar with Game Of Thrones.
Go to TV Shows and select GOT, select Season 1 episode 1 and I’m asked to pay.
It’s because I bought the 1-5 boxset and the TV App is looking at the individual seasons.
Even before the TV app this was a slight annoyance as you’d like to think that upon buying a boxset of a number of seasons it would also link your purchase to the same number of the individual seasons available too.

That's happened to me before.
Studio was at fault.

The movie I purchased is no longer on sale, so when I do a search or see it show up within the TV App as a suggestion, I "need to buy" however, I can go to my collection and still find the movie in purchased. but even on a search, it won't come up as the version I purchased. I feel that is something that Apple should figure out too, but the studio pulled the first version of the movie and the new version uses a different code. a Simple fix could be to include SKUs XXX1, XXX2, XXX3, etc. if the movie changes. so at least you can get to a version you own easily.
