ATV causes itune to start MBP Playing music

    Have a last years 13" MBP and got ATV2 for Christmas when you turn on ATV say to watch a movie the MBP opens itunes and starts playing music on the MBP is this normal.

    LOL. It's because you need to pair (lock) your remote to the Apple TV. Right now, your remote works for both the Apple TV and the MBP. You can lock remotes to only work with one device.

    +1 for the above. The culprit is the remote, not the ATV.

    You can do this manually using just the remote, or in the system settings.

    That's not fully correct. Pairing an Apple device to a remote actually prevents the device from being controlled by any other remote. If you pair your ATV to the aluminum remote, your ATV can't be controlled by any other remote but that remote can still control your MPB. So what you would need to do instead is either pair your MBP to another remote or just turn the IR off on the MBP.
