ATV proof of purchase question

Hey all

I purchased my ATV the other day first one I ever owned. I have a question though. I accidentally threw my proof of purchase away. I bought it from a 3rd party store and not apple store.

Now my question is. If anything happens to my ATV will apple require a proof of purchase document. As I don't know if I have to register it with apple. Or does it works the same as an iPhone where I take it to Genius Bar and they go by the serial number?

if u are concerned, just register with Apple then.

Generally not a problem, the only time you'd run into an issue is if the item was previously sold & re-registered by you. Registration happens automatically when you activate the Apple TV; you can see your registered products & warranty dates at http://supportprofile.apple.com
