after the latest OS update, I have noticed both my ATVs switching on by themselves. And by default, the attached CEC devices also.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yes. In my case it was Aurplay. I turned off AirPlay and it stopped. I was also seeing a message that AirPlay only supports .... can not remember exact message. This happened on multiple TV's. Started with the beta and assumed it was the beta until final release and then happened on another TV.

I think that error is referencing that AirPlay only supports (basically) Apple devices now, so things like AirParrot will no longer work. No idea what it would randomly pop up though

I had this occurring as well. I updated to the new update and also did a clean reset. I had to add my apps back but no more automatically turning on!

With 8 Apple TV's I hate to have to reset them ALL. Something on my network must be causing this if very few are having the problem. For now it is easier to just turn off Airplay since I almost never use it.

This is very annoying! The Apple TV either turns on randomly, turning on the TV as well, or if it is already on, this message keeps popping up every few minutes: "Device requirements - this airplay connection requires with etc. etc."

I turned off every wifi device in my house - same thing happens! What's going on?

The same happened to me in 2 different atv4.Started from the beta until final release and only if i turned off airplay solved the problem.

When mine (ATV4) does that, I have to double click home button and swipe up to close all open pages. This atv doesnt have much patience before it starts acting in some irritating way. Loved my older ATV3, no problems ever, but lightning struck my house last spring and fried all ectronics.

Basically yes, I even tried closing all apps but to no avail. After the ATV turned itself back on, I see that all the apps are open again...very strange.

Mine does this too. And it shows an airplay compatibility notice all the time. I was just interrupted 5 times during a 30 minute Netflix show...

When the aTV4 came out I wasn't thrilled that they found another way to stick a microphone in my home via the Siri remote, so I set my home system up with the aTV slaved to the power switch on my flatscreen. When the screen is off, Apple TV is off. Kind of hard for it to "accidentally" start itself when the power is completely cut.

In Belgium, Siri isn't even supported yet for apple tv o_O
