ATV remote

I have a 8ish year old Mac and have just bought Apple TV. The remotes must work on the same band as I have found out. When the mac is on with iTunes running when I use the Apple TV remote it controls the mac and vice versa! What can I do anything lol?

Or you can shut off the IR sensor on your Mac and it will no longer respond to remote commands.

I'm unsure of what version of Mac OS your running, but it can gernerally be found in the security system pref panel.

And if you ever want to use your Mac with a remote - simply turn the setting back on temporarily.

You can also pair with the mac so that only one remote controls it, just like the apple tv.

I changed my mind and linked each remote to the device cheers for your help
