So i never use my AppleTV, because its a pain in the but every time i try to turn it on and use. I decided i wanted to rent Jason Bourne... so i've been trying. It keeps asking me to enter my Apple ID password, and tells me that following that i need to enter the verification code found on my other devices. So i have entered my Apple ID many times, and it just errors and tells me i need to enter my verification code. It never asked for it. So i tried taking the text literally (enter your password followed by your verification code)... and combined them and entered them.. that doesn't work either. Why is this so stupidly hard? Every time i try to enter my password takes two friggin minutes.. and i just hate this thing already.

How many devices are you getting the verification code on? Have you tried using the code from a different device to enter on the ATV? It shouldn't matter but doesn't hurt to try. 2-factor authentication can also be turned off by signing into Manage Your Apple ID. But you'll be asked for a verification code when you log into that also until you turn it off so have your device ready.

It was never even asking me to enter the verification code.
I just did a software update. After the update, it asked me to enter my Apple ID password to sign in. I did so, and it acted as though i was signed in. I selected a movie to rent, and it then brought me back to the screen asking me to enter password to sign in. I did so again. It then asked me for the verification passcode. I heard it chime on both my iPhone and iPad. I clicked the "allow" button on the iPhone, and it showed me a code. I entered that verification code. It then brought me right back to the screen asking me to enter my Apple ID password again. I just went through that whole process three times.
Would not the fact that it got to the part asking me for the verification code suggest it has already accepted my Apple ID password? the verification code is 6 numbers... and i was careful to enter it correctly each time. This is so frustrating i want to check the thing out the window.
Anyone suggest an alternate method of renting this movie to watch on my Samsung TV?
