Hey there! I upgraded my HT setup and now have better sound but everything isn't as seamless as it once was...hoping I can get back to that. Anyway here is my setup:

Sony XBR-65X900F
AppleTV 4k (HDMI-4)
Sonos Beam + Play 1s (HDMI-3/ARC)
Sony blu-ray (HDMI-2)

My prior setup was a 2.1 Sony soundbar connected via optical. ATV was on ARC and with the ATV remote I was able to turn the TV on/off and control volume of the soundbar as long as it was already powered on. I also had Dolby Vision/HDR capability.

I had to move my ATV to HDMI-4 so the Beam could be in the HDMI/ARC. I do have volume control of the Beam via the ATV remote.

I have lost Dolby Vision/HDR and the ability to turn the TV off via the ATV remote tho... Is HDR tied to HDMI/ARC?

Any ideas? I called Sonos but they were less than helpful. Thanks!

The new setup is great for a small apartment btw! Lost a little bass but the addition of a center channel and surrounds still improve the experience. Hopefully I can add the Sonos sub soon.

Forgive the (perhaps) obvious question - are all your HDMI cables correct (bandwidth at least 18mb - and latest version) ?

Do all of the HDMI ports on your SONY TV carry Dolby Vision? I remember reading that not all of them do on some SONY TVs.

Try the Apple TV on HDMI 1 or 2 Also does Dolby Vision need switching on on the TV settings for each HDMI port?

my tv (LG) has a setting to enable HDR on a port by port basis, i'm guessing it's probably the same for you.

The TV should still turn off, make sure you haven't disabled HDMI-CEC

Thank you all. Took a little digging but "enhanced HDMI" is only available on HDMI 2 & 3. Moved the ATV to 2 and the blu-ray to 4 and I have Dolby Vision back.

I also dinked around in the settings and managed to get the CEC working again too. Was even able to add my br play to the mix...
