ATV turns on by itself

Though I would not mind if Apple took control of my life, this new ATV turning itself on when I choose to watch my cable tv is a bit frustrating..... I just unplugged it but I would like suggestions as to how better to live with my new Apple pal....

Same thing happened to me last night, TV turned back on and kept playing the Netflix show I'd been watching. Any chance you're having issues with your remote dropping connection as well? Mine is giving me trouble and wondering if the problems might be related.

APPLE IS TAKING OVER!!!!! My dreams are coming true.....

I think it may be the Siri remote. Mine seems to generate "phantom" taps that cause the Apple TV to behave as if I had touched the remote. Whether this could wake the TV I can't tell since my TV doesn't have HDMI-CEC.
