ATV won't show up in devices

my new ATV is connected to my iTunes and streams fine. The ATV does not show up on the device list, however. So I can not add photos or maintain it. Any suggestions.

Pull the power cord and reboot it.

The times mine wouldn't show up under Devices I found that reconnecting to the network fixed it.

I don't have access to my AppleTV at this time, so I can't tell you exactly. It's under a menu selection titled something like Setup. It shouldn't take too long to find just by surfing the menu system.
