ATV4 connected to Samsung 55 LED via HDMI

CEC ON/OFF input switch works fantastic, so TV remote has been drawer'ed.

However despite multiple seemingly successful attempts to "learn" soundbar remote, still no success in getting Siri remote to adjust Samsung Soundbar volume.

As a test, the tv volume can be adjusted via Siri remote with no problem, not sure if this is being done through CEC or IR

I have the soundbar connected via analog 3.5mm cord, as this is the only current option I have. (the only other soundbar inputs are optical)

Same issue here. Have also tried to make the remote learn the sound bar remote, but it doesn't work. Hoping it's a software issue that can be addressed in future updates.

Yeah, it would be nice to know what options those of us, for who 'learning remote' does not work, have?

My speakers are controlled by an ordinary IR remote. Other universal remotes can do it, why can't the Siri remote learn to do it?

I don't think there is another option. When you point your remote at the Apple TV and press the buttons, the ir receiver built in to the Apple TV essentially records that signal and sends it to the Siri remote. From there on its just repeating what it had learned from the original remote.

That it's not working is very odd.

I have a Samsung TV and Samsung sound bar and both have Anynet CEC and they work with each other but not with Apple TV, my turn on/off TV is greyed out, i also tried to learn the sound bar remote but did not work, so with the TV connected to sound bar by CEC i can turn up the sound bar with my TV remote, so i learn the TV remote for the sound and it works that way, can't turn anything on or off with the Siri remote, but atleast i can use the volume now.

Have you guys gotten this to work, by any chance? I know it's an old thread but I might be in a similar situation with my external speakers, and I'm wondering if any of the software updates since last November have fixed these issues...I hope they have! :)

I use a Vizio soundbar and had to change a setting on my TV, check the TV menus for options regarding speakers and try testing the settings available to find the right one. I believe I needed to set mine to External.
