ATV4 Siri Remote Always On? Distance?

Curious on the Siri remote for those that have it or get it soon.

1.) Can the remote be on the table 10 ft away and still work, is the mic long-range or do I need to hold it to my mouth like an iPhone?

2.) is it always on? if the ATV4 is powered down and the TV, can I say Hey Siri Play The Martian... and it goes.. or do I need to power things up first before it functions? my current ATVs go to sleep after a bit I'm wondering if Siri and ATV4 are going to be more aware (like how xbox one kinnect is supposted to be always monitoring)

Not sure about the range (I've read that you can have your arm resting on the couch and it will still hear you).

You have to physically press & hold the button while you're speaking though, so 10ft is out of the question for sure.

Siri does not work like iOS9 with Hey Siri so you still need to press Siri button. I doubt it's always on since again you would need to press Siri button and maybe ATV will turn on when you press it.
