roku is getting the comcast xfinity app later this year

Roku devices will provide customers with access to their live and on demand programming, including local broadcast, cable and premium networks, Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) channels, as well as their cloud DVR recordings – all without the need to lease a set top box from Xfinity.

i have a few rokus but would love to have this on the ATV4,
for me is cheaper to get cable/internet together than internet alone

I'm in the same position as you (i.e. Internet alone would be more expensive than my current Internet + Limited Basic + HBO package). I haven't even connected the crappy cable box Comcast gave me, but if I could access their channels through Roku or ATV that would be pretty cool for a few things.

You could get a cable card $7 if you have another cable box, free if you don't
But then you have to buy an hdhomerun prime for $100

If I can get the xfinity app on the Apple TV I can return the cable card , I'm paying $7 for it because I still have one Comcast DVR box in the house

And I have two rokus in different rooms that can get live tv with this future xfinity app
Currently I get live tv to the roku using plex app and a hdhomerun plugin , not the smoothest setup

Wow, I never saw this coming but that's awesome. I'd definitely be interested in this if they brought it to the Apple TV.
