My audio output is not working and their is a red light by the headphone jack on the left side of my macbook. What does this mean? How long will it take to get fixed?

You can probably fix it yourself. The switch 'inside' the audio socket gets stuck in the on position. Plug in some headphones and then unplug them straight away. That often fixes it. If not, try a toothpick, maybe a straightened paper clip, but be careful.
