Hello. I could really do with your help since I can find nothing in the literature.

I have an 8 year old daughter that occasionally suffers from high heart rates SVTs (Supra ventricular tachycardia) that requires medical attention. If she is awake she can tell me, but not so whilst asleep.

1. The apple watch provides 'notifications' for preset high or low heart rates. Can these be audible alarms or are these simply creen only or minor vibrate alerts (which would not wake up my daughter)?

2. Bearing in mind I would simply be getting an apple watch for this sole purpose (maybe even an old series 1 which still has these alerts), must I have an iPhone too?

3. Note the ECG feature is not needed. Only the high heart rate notification.

4. Any other ideas welcomed. I tried a Fitbit vivosmart that has these notifications, but it only has very, very small vibrate and screen notification but I am trying to find a solution that has a more robust alert like an alarm or beeps.

Thank you kindly...

I could be wrong here but, I don’t believe the Apple Watch alerts in real to a high heart rate while sleeping.

I would like that ability as well, as my heart rate can get what is considered low for the average person (mid 30s) while sleeping. I do get a notification about it when I am awake and start my day.

Please confirm my post with another person or source, before making a final decision.

Best wishes to you and your daughter.

Anyone get any further info on this? I USED to get high heart rate notifications at night, IN the night if they were above a certain threshold.. I have it set in the watch app properly, and the HR sensor captures data that can show 120-135 bpm for several serial readings, over about 5-10 minutes while sleeping and yet I don’t get an alert, I don’t even get a note in the HR health app that shows them. But, I can see the data in the “show more data” area. Has this been disabled, or is it just falling?
