Audio Balancing...?

I think I read about this somewhere before, but can't seem to find it again.

The balance on my sound keeps going either left or right, randomly and for no reason. Is there any fix for this? It's starting to annoy me; that I have to go into System Prefs every few hours to change it back. It seems to be doing it more now that I've updated to 10.4.8.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

it is a well known bug. and there was a 3rd party app to fix it. let me see if i can dig up the ol' thread i had on it here somewhere. 😀

Haha, now I won't need to dump the 'ol iBook 😛.

I actually thought it was my speakers at first, but they basically brand new. Glad you helped!

Back when I had my Powerbook G4, I had that exact same problem. I didn't notice it if just playing sound through the speakers, as the 12" notebooks are so small, so I thought my headphone port was broken! I was really mad until I went into sound preferences and fixed it. 😎
