I need a program that can convert audio files like wavs or wmp to mp3s or mp4s, outside of iTunes. Sometimes I run across wmp audio files that iTunes can't convert, so when I had my PC, I would often use dbpoweramp to do the trick. If anybody has ever used dbpoweramp, what's the best OS X alternative of that?

Im not to sure if Audacity works with wmp files but it would be worth a try its not as easy as using dbpoweramp, but it does a pretty good job at converting as an added bonus it also can cut and change audio as to the likes of making ringtones with it.

I believe Media Rage will handle most of your audio file formats, but I don't think it handles .wma. It's the name I hear most when audio format conversion is discussed.

Hope it helps.
