Audio input to output app?

Hi,

I'm looking for a piece of software that runs in the background and sends audio from my input straight to the output. I'm currently using ableton live but it thats a bit over kill.

I'm pretty sure that I can monitor recording input via the headphone socket on my Mac when using Audacity. Not able to test it at the moment though.
