Hi everyone

I'm in the market for an audio interface and I'm new to world of recording. I've already asked a few questions and made use of the primer thread, now I have most of the information I just want to get some of your thoughts on what audio interface is best for me.

I plan on recording guitars and vocals directly into my macbook/garageband. So I need a Hi-Z input, Mic Input with power and pre-amps. I've been looking at a few contenders and I've narrowed it down to the following:

Presonus Firebox (http://www.presonus.com/firebox.html)

A well established interface within budget but which has had some issues with firewire power.

M-Audio Firewire Solo (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWireSolo-main.html)

A known brand but doesn't seem to do as much as the Firebox or Konnekt 8

Konnekt 8 (http://www.tcelectronic.com/Konnekt8)

A new comer following advice from another forum. The Konnekt 8 ticks all the right boxes, Hi-Z inputs with higher impedance (1 million ohms) than any other, quality pre-amps and a more attractive casing. This is a fairly new box and people have warned me about drivers. I don't know what to make of it all- it seems too good to be true so anyone with experience with it would be appreciated- I can't even find a reliable site review.

All these devices are firewire and the Konnekt 8 is the most expensive. I'd really appreciate your thoughts and advice before I make this big purchase. I'm also open to other products I haven't listed here- just tell me what they are!

Hey I think any would be fine. Many people I know have that PreSonus box and it works good.
