I have an iBook G4 set up as a little media server of sorts. I have the headphone jack supplying audio. Video-out port to RCA video supplying video to the tv. I have both signals going into a component selector, such as this : http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search . The reason for a selector is so that the video/audio output of the selector can be shared with the dvd player to the tv.
The second output is run to the stereo speakers for when just audio is used on the stereo system.

Problem is my media is all on the external drive, and when connected through firewire 400 and through usb i get interference in the audio.

What can i do to solve this interference?

will something like this do the trick?
