I bought a 2018 Mac Mini (i5 3.0, 8GB RAM, 256 SSD) to use as a HTPC. It's connected to a Bravia 55X90J through a bunch of different ways. I get significant audio delays (out-of-sync audio video) which defeats the purpose. I guess something should be going wrong here. I am very disappointed and would very highly appreciate any help here (I will send cookies to whoever will be able to solve this with me, really!)

Different ways I tried:

1) HDMI cable from the HDMI output: Audio delay
2) USB-C to HDMI cable (Anker, expensive thing, 4K capable, etc): Audio delay
3) HDMI cable (the same with 1) through the Apple usb-c to hdmi/usb-a/hdmi adapter: NO audio delay, works as expected (!!)

(All cases above use the same HDMI input in TV)

The thing is, I can go with solution 3 (meaning another ~90$ spent to buy one more adapter), however I don't want to be using an adapter just to connect the Mini to a TV.

Do you have any idea what may be going on?

Try to connect the Mac Mini to your Bravia via optical digital audio output (Toslink/Toslink).

So using two cables, one for audio, one for video, right? Not the most convenient way, however I may try this.

It's really frustrating to have this kind of problems in 2022. HDMI should be transferring audio and video :p

Yeah, it's just to verify the situation.
It can be an issue with HDCP version.
