Hey all,

I just upgraded to a Mac Pro and I noticed that it doesn't respond to me plugging in headphones or powered speakers at all. But, if I go into System Preferences, I'm about to manually change the output source and the selected output will work.

On my PowerMac G5 and MBP, I never had an issue like this. I just plugged in and the system would make the needed changes.

Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? It's really frustrating to have to go in and change the settings whenever I'm switching from speakers to headphones.

Thanks for the help!

I noticed that too but haven't found a way to fix it yet either.
Extremely annoying.

I've always had to go into sysprefs and manually select speakers or headphones. It's never been automatic on my systems.

I now use SoundSource to make it a little easier.
