I just reinstalled tiger and my internal speakers started making a popping sound every couple of seconds. I tried to install the Audio Updater 2007-001 in order to correct the problem but it says that my hard drive does not meet the requirements. It is a new hard drive that i put in because my other one gave out. I installed Leopard thinking that it would help but it is still popping and I still can't install the update. What do I do?

check disk utility for the hard drive problem, and apple has a hardware test on their system restore cds. cant remember right now, but try google.

The Apple Hardware Test is on the first restore DVD. Insert the DVD and at startup, hold down the option key until the boot loader screen (blue) shows up. Then select the AHT to boot from.

I have used Disc Utility to verify and check the disk and they say that it works just fine. I have also tried to install a Mac intel update package and it still won't work. It shows the Disk with a exclamation point on it saying that the disk does not meet the requirements.
