I like to know if they made software that lets you record though the line in/ mic port on it. I looking for something like audiograbber. I have audacity but don't like it. Thanks for the help.

There's all sorts of software. QuickTime Player will let you record audio from mic/line input. It's possible you might need the Pro version of it, but you can also use GarageBand or Logic to record audio. Audacity does take a bit of a learning curve, but it is surprisingly powerful once you understand it's quirks. If none of these suit you, then try looking on Macintosh Garden.

Who are they? Any audio software that can record and support core audio can do it. There are tons of them out there.

I have garageband 6.05 and logic on my old g5 and i have last version of quicktime. I have to see if garageband will let me do it since it wants to connect to apple to download guitar lessons everytime i start it up and get a error because it can't download them. I check out logic too. I see if i can find quicktime pro still. thank you.

There should be various open-source software too, via Macports or Fink.

Hello,

I can highly recommend the program “Sound Studio” by felt tip software. I have used it for over 15 years and love it.

You can purchase it here…

or try out an old version here at Macintosh Garden…

I REALLY like this program and also dislike Audacity as well.

FYI, you can still purchase the older version compatible with your G5 on their website.

😀
