I have my Apple TV 4K hooked up to a Vizio P series (2016) on HDMI 4. I have an arc return cable hooked up to an Onkyo 737. Optical Cable with it.

Video is fine on the 4K, Dolby Vision setting at 60hz. But my audio is stuttering. When I switched to 1080p SDR, audio was fine.

Can someone help?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you shouldn't really be using an optical cable in tandem with ARC in that setup? I'd get rid of that for starters, then work my way from there.

I got rid of the optical and had the same issue, but got rid of the HDMI and the problem seemed to be solved. ARC issue with my receiver I guess?

Try setting the ATV to DV 24hz. DV and HDR10 at 60hz along with the audio case sometimes surpass the capability of the HDMI cable. Even the premium certified HDMI cables can have issues.

Well apparently somewhere in there I switched Dolby Vision off. Because when I turned it back on the same thing happened. So with either optical or HDMI, there’s an audio stutter.

Do you have a UHD premium certified HDMI cable going from the ATV to youe tv? If you are using just a regular HDMI cable, it will have issues with HDR material and the audio.

I do.

Seems to strictly happen with Dolby Vision 60hz. But my tv supports the setting. So I’m not sure what the deal is.
