Audio through thunderbolt to HMDI not working?

So i got a cord, that does thunderbolt to HMDI, and it looks perfect. Everything works well, except the audio comes out of the computer still...
Do I need to change a setting on the computer? Shouldn't the audio just automatically go through though?
