I'm sort of new at this whole media server thing and I've been downloading and playing a bit with Plex, boxee, and XBMC and I'm noticing audio/video sync issues of varying degrees with them. I watched a couple of Netflix shows last night with Plex and the audio was way off. Then I tried boxee this morning and the same thing, but not nearly as bad. I know that boxee has an audio offset adjustment, but that was confusing too. Every time I went in to adjust it, it would not be set at 0 and when I did move it 0, it would be off again when I started a new video. I was looking for some sort of "master" offset, but couldn't find one.

Which one of these programs really works best? I know that as far as I can tell, Plex looks the most polished, but I really just want one that will function the best.

(Right now I'm trying these on my macbook 2.4 dual core with 2 gb ram, but I'll be buying a new mini for my media server.)
